What WellNaija Does

WellNaija is a doctor marketplace. Patients can sign up to consult licensed medical professionals through digital consultations. You can discover doctors, compare availability and consultation fees, and connect with a professional that fits your needs. Consultations take place through the platform using text chat and audio calls, supported by our team's infrastructure.

How It Works

1. Create an account — Sign up as a patient or as a healthcare professional.
2. Complete your profile — This helps the right professionals understand your needs, or helps patients find you if you're a doctor.
3. Find a doctor — Browse verified doctors by specialty, price, and availability.
4. Start a consultation — Fund your wallet and start a consultation with your chosen doctor. Consultations happen through secure chat and audio calls.
5. Access your records — View consultation summaries and health records from your dashboard.

Verified Healthcare Professionals

Healthcare professionals on WellNaija go through a verification process as part of onboarding. Verification helps confirm that the professionals on the platform are licensed and credentialed. Doctors display a verified badge once their documentation has been reviewed. The role of each professional is documented on their profile, and patients are encouraged to verify credentials through official regulatory bodies where appropriate.

Digital Consultations

Digital consultations provide remote access to medical professionals. They are well suited to non-emergency concerns, follow-up care, and general health guidance. Digital consultations have limitations, and doctors may determine that in-person examination, laboratory testing, imaging, or referral is needed. WellNaija is not an emergency service — medical emergencies require immediate local emergency care.

Health Records and Privacy

WellNaija securely stores health records on the platform, including the information you add to your profile and consultation records. Your biodata is controlled by you, while clinical notes from consultations are controlled by the treating professional. Access to your records is restricted and scoped to your care. We take privacy seriously and are guided by Nigeria's data protection laws.

Responsible Healthcare Delivery

We are building WellNaija responsibly. That means verified professionals, honest communication about what the platform can and cannot do, clear separation between general information, teleconsultation, diagnosis, and treatment, and a commitment to protecting patient data. We do not claim to replace hospitals or emergency services.
